Woop woop! We were all revved up to be beach-bound come Sunday. Me and Jonathan were slightly dreading the drive with Marek, knowing he's not one to fall asleep extremely easy in the car, and with the fact that he just wants to be on the go all the time now. But he actually did pretty well.
We stopped off in New Bern for lunch, and were able to meet up with my cousin, Jayson, and his fiancee, Pam. Jayson is in the marines and has lived in New Bern for 12 years. We had no idea! Here we've been visiting New Bern on our beach trips for the last 3 years, never knowing he lived there! Goodness. Ah well. Our have place to eat there, The Chelsea, was closed, so we ate at Persimmon on the water. It was great food, and nice to catch up with Jay and Pam.
After our little detour, we finished out our trek to Pine Knoll Shores. After unpacking our moving vans (well, it seemed that way), Josh & Andrea arrived with Emma and Lucas. Full-fledge cousin time was in full swing.

I'm bummed to say Jonathan never took the camera with him like I asked - the guys took all the kids out to the beach finally after we got settled while us ladies went to get groceries. Grrr...
