Thanksgiving Day Festivities

When Grandma and Papa came, they brought along a big box of supplies that Great Aunt Betty sent along to do gingerbread houses!  The box sat teasing Ellison for the longest time it seemed.  She begged to work on them every single day, but it would be our Thanksgiving Day fun project.  Our creative girl was so excited when the time finally came.

Marek helped briefly.  He was more keen on pulling decorations off, though.

Hmmm... I wonder why our decorations kept disappearing....

Mookie's finished product:
We had fun working on our houses.  Thank you, Aunt Betty!!!

Daddy also got out our outdoor Christmas decor.  His little helper had the task of fluffing the wreaths out for him.

Then the kids went toolin' around...

It was finally time for the much-anticipated Christmas tree decorating!  This is always Ellison's favorite part.  She loves going through all the ornaments, hearing little tidbits of history with a lot of them, and hanging them on the tree.  Our tree once again needed to have a bare bottom-half again.

Marek loved the bulbs...

...and kept taking them apart.

Love his one slipper that he kept walking around in...

It was a good Thanksgiving, great food, fun times, but also some tough memories.  Last year on Thanksgiving we were reeling from Joe's sudden death.  It was definitely a tough holiday for the Soto family this year.
