Light Bulbs and a Sickie

Oh, Marek and his light bulbs.  Brother is OBSESSED with light bulbs and lights/lamps.  Holding them, screwing them in, unscrewing them, taking them down, holding the box.  He will stand at the laundry closet (where the extra light bulbs are located) and beg to hold the box of lightbulbs.  This is how he will end up if you're not paying close enough attention.

His lamp had to be removed from his bedroom.

Meanwhile, poor Ellison was completely devastated.  As mentioned in the previous post, she woke up with a stomach ache and vomiting the night before.  Of all days to miss school, it was the day her class was going to have their King & Queen Tea Party.  The day they got permission from the director to break dress code and wear fancy outfits.  She was so upset about missing it, and cried.  She kept saying, "Why did this have to happen today?  Why couldn't it have happened on another day?".  We felt so bad for her.  But we told her she had to get better for her Christmas pageant coming up in a couple of days.
After some Zofran, Ellison never vomited again after 5am, but she did not eat all day long, and just layed down the whole day not feeling well.  Toward evening she started to run low-grade fevers, and her generalized tummy ache started centralizing around her belly button and then migrating into the RLQ.  And I was shocked she hadn't perked up by evening.  It stinks having an RN for a mommy.  After I got home from work and she was still not well, I called our pediatrician's on-call nurse, and she concurred she didn't like Ellison's symptoms, so off we went to the ED to make sure she didn't have appendicitis.

After 3 hours in the ED (which is pretty good, actually, just not when you have a child begging to go home because it's the middle of the night), she suddenly perked right up (of course).  But we were happy with that, and thankful it turned out to be nothing.  We finally returned home around 2:30am, and Mookie was much better after that.
