So, I came home from work late the night before, only to hear Jonathan suddenly pause the TV, and proceed to tell me he had a little freak-out moment with Mookie. He said he went to floss her teeth before bed, and he saw another tooth coming in BEHIND her baby tooth! He got a little too wierded out by it, and started to freak Ellison out about it, so after she got a little hyped up about it, she exclaimed, "(Gasp!) We need to go to Urgent Care and show Mommy right away!!!!". He knew he had to calm her (and himself) down, so he then told her he was kidding (insert eye rolling here). At any rate, I had never heard of that, so I immediately googled it. Sure enough, it's known as a "shark tooth".
It was perfect timing in that she had her regular dental check-up scheduled for 4 days later. We were assured there would not need to be any tooth pulling, as the tooth in front of it is already loose now, and eventually the baby tooth will fall out and the permanent tooth will move forward. Ellison is SO excited at the prospect of losing her first tooth. It's funny, of all milestones she's made that tell us she's getting older, this one really got me a little choked up. My baby girl's gorgeous toothy grin will now start to be forever changed. Forever. Anyone got some tissues?
