Getting so wormy these days... difficult to take pics.
Our 8 month baby now pulls himself up to stand, crawls and gets into everything, and has us constantly scoping the lower 2 feet of our house to see if there's anything that's a danger.
He's starting to eat a few more finger foods, but in general is never ravenous with them. He loves to drink out of a cup, and is such a messy eater. :-)
Marek's sleep has not been the best schedule lately. Though he's napping pretty good now, he's been getting up around 1 or 2am every single night. Hard as I try to let him cry it out, my blood pressure becomes raised, and I feel all anxious, and then cave in and go to him and nurse him. Then he goes back to sleep until it's time to get up around 7 or 7:15. The one night I had Jon go to him since he doesn't have "the goods", and he got him to calm down and go back to sleep, but he was so restless and woke up within 15 min. Ugh. I hate this part. I know I need to stop feeding him in the middle of the night, but it's so hard!!!
Marek hasn't expanded his vocabulary much - will still say "Dadadada" and "Mamamama" among a few other simple things, but he doesn't seem interested in trying out anything new, nor does he associate me or Jonathan with anything he says. He loves to stare at crazy Mama's mouth, enunciating simple words over and over to him, but he isn't itching to work on it himself.
He started to do this thing with his mouth when he's tired - the same exact thing Ellison did when she would get tired at this age! We love it - his little tongue protrudes a little from a little mouth pursed in the shape of an "O".
He is still such a great baby - loves to go shopping and sit in the cart and look around at things. He is really an easy baby to take places because he is so good.
He's really loving his sister. He's always all smiles for her! He grins so easily when she interacts with him. She's starting to play with him a little more, which is getting funner for her. But, yes, she's already getting possessive of things with Marek. :-)
Oh yes - and Marek started sprouting a top tooth. It popped through while we were in Buffalo. We are tempted to call him Mater now - like the southern hick truck in the movie cars - because it's so cute that he has 2 bottom teeth and just 1 top one that appears to be large.
