We are still dumbfounded...
Yes, for reals, Ellison drew this. No tracing, no cheating involved. We happened to have the TV on our Christian Children's Network station, Smile of a Child (which we love), and there happened to be Mike's Inspiration Station on. He's an artist who does a little show with different crafts and such. Well, he was going step by step instructing the viewer how to draw a bird on a branch. When Ellison saw this, she paused the TV and ran to get a piece of paper and a Sharpie. As Mike drew the picture, she did the same thing, watching the TV as she drew her own. Craziness!!! Then she colored in the picture with colored pencils, just as Mike did. We still can't believe how amazing it looks! God definitely has touched our girl with some artistic talent. She keeps telling us, "I messed up on the tail, though." Huh?! Hopefully Mama will get on the ball to get it framed soon. So amazing!
