Pumpkin Carving

Mookie asked for several days leading up to it, if we could please carve pumpkins yet.  The day finally came.

Ellison drew her design out on paper first, then drew the design onto the pumpkin.  Sister takes this seriously.

She wasn't keen on doing it with her hands at all, but she was willing to scoop out the guts with a pair of tongs, at least.

Marek was totally grossed out.  When Sissy or Daddy would pull out guts, he literally would gag a little.  Hilarious!  He had such a disgusted look on his face through most of the carving, and refused to touch any of it.  My job is "seed separator", so we can have a yummy snack later.

And this is Mookie's and my favorite part - washing the seeds.  It feels so good on your hands!

You can imagine how quickly Marek's disgusted look disappeared once Daddy got out the power tools to do the job.

Is this considered cheating?

The final product:
I love the eyelashes Ellison designed. ;-)  Then she and I made our Sweet & Salty Pumpkin Seeds.  They were learning all about pumpkins at school that week, so we took some for her classmates to try.
