Ho, Ho, Ho!

OK, if any of you parents happened to be at Bur-Mil to see Santa, please stop reading and go to a different post.  Here was a nasty parenting moment that is cringe-worthy (and, for the record, against everything we believe in.  Firmly.): we made the executive decision to take the kids, as planned, to see Santa, despite Ellison being sick.  (Gasp!)  Now, we did keep her away from close proximity to other children, but this only happens once year, people, and she was so devastated at the prospect of missing a Santa visit.  She was looking SO forward to it, and we thought, "OK, we just keep her distanced from other kids.  It's a mere couple of minutes on the big guy's lap."  There.  I confessed.  And for the record, we ran into friends of ours, whom invited us to go to dinner.  I fessed up, then, too.  And she said she would have done the same.

We werent' sure what Marek's reaction would be.  He was completely chillaxed with St. Nick.  He was very interested in his beard and the jingle bells on his wrist.  Ellison has always enjoyed seeing Santa.  She got that shy little grin of hers on her face.

Straight back home we went, skipping out on the Christmas crafts and caroling this year.
