Ellison has continued to be a little fish this summer. She has done such an awesome job overcoming her fears this summer, and really took to swimming lessons. She had one week in July in a semi-private lesson with Miss Frances, and we decided to do one week of private lessons with Miss Frances again before summer ended. She did great! Miss Frances said she really responded well to the private lessons, and that she really enjoyed working with Ellison. Ellison listened very well and tried her best with everything Miss Frances asked her to do. It was so fun and exciting to watch her progress. She can tread water, swim on her back, dive for objects, swim under the water, and she even started working on the breaststroke and the breathing. She is also jumping in the water with gusto, sometimes even doing fancy twists in the air.
On Ellison's last day of lessons for the summer, she told Miss Frances that she wanted to jump off the diving board! The first 2 times she jumped with Miss Frances...
...and then announced she wanted to do it all by herself!
So cool! She even asked to jump off the high-dive (but was not allowed). Phew.
We feel so torn that we may not join the same pool next year (just to be closer to home). We have really loved Hamilton Lakes, and we REALLY love Miss Frances!
