Pool Time

It's a long and boring story, but the end of the story is that we ended up joining Hamilton Lakes Swim & Tennis Club this summer.  The stinky part is that it's 20 minutes away when there's a pool club right down the street from our house, but the good news is that we really love it there.  It is a little challenging to be there for any amount of time with a baby who doesn't nap well outside of a crib, but we are enjoying it when we can.  Bubba does really well even when he's going on little sleep, but it feels like a lot to do that to him and to haul everything but the kitchen sink there.  But being at the pool is the only way we wanna do anything outside in this Carolina summer.  And we've already established that Ellison is a total summer/beach/water girl.

Since he's just shy of turning 6 months old, I've finally broken down and started putting sunblock on his chubby leggies so that we can do a little more with him at the pool, like actually taking him in the water.  He likes it - he's just completely chill when he's in it.  No smiling, no crying, no frowns, no laughing.  Just chillin'.

I've taken the kids a few times during the week, but we always hit the pool on the weekends as a family,  friving separately so I can bring Bubbers home when he's had enough.
